Former X-Men star Halle Berry in talks for Kingsman sequels

Although it didn't quite have the same impact as Deadpool, Kingsman: The Secret Service was an excellent R-rated comic book movie which was very well received in 2015. That movie boasted a cast that included Samuel L. Jackson and Colin Firth, and while neither actor will be returning for the sequel the film won't be lacking when it comes to star power.

According to Deadline, Halle Berry is in talks to play the head of the CIA in Kingsman 2. The article also mentions that the actress is negotiating a two-picture deal, which means there are plans afoot to turn Kingsman into a trilogy.

This isn't Berry's first appearance in a comic book movie; in addition to playing the title role in the infamous Catwoman, she also starred as X-Woman Storm in four X-Men films. She's also no stranger to super-spy movies, having starred as NSA agent Jinx Johnson in the Pierce Brosnan Bond film Die Another Day. Whether Berry's character is friend or foe remains to be seen, but the actress would be a great addition to the Kingsman franchise.

Directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, and Julianne Moore, Kingsman 2 will be released in cinemas on June 16, 2017.
