Club Nintendo gets a redesign and offers downloadable games as rewards

Club Nintendo's American side has never been as strong as the publisher's Japanese version, but it has still done a good job at bringing interesting rewards to Nintendo fans willing to fill out surveys and register games. Today, however, Nintendo has taken a big step in the right direction, adding downloadable games as rewards for the first time, and redesigning the entire website to better suit these changes.

Four games have been added in total, costing between 100 to 150 coins. Considering a game registration gives anywhere from 30 to 60 coins (with an extra 10 coins awarded for post-play surveys), it means that a new game can be earned every two to three games purchased - and that's not bad at all. Best of all, it appears that Nintendo is planning on changing things out every few weeks, with a new set of games set to be announced in January.

There's a list below of what's currently available, and you can check out the official website for more new gifts (including some awesome 25th Anniversary Zelda posters).

Wii

  • Super Mario Kart: 100 Coins (normally 800 points)
  • Fluidity: 150 Coins (normally 1,200 points)

3DS

  • 3D Classics: Xevious: 100 Coins (normally $5.99)
  • Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again!: 150 Coins (normally $7.99)
