Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis star in new Jupiter Ascending trailer: watch now

A new trailer has arrived for Jupiter Ascending , in which the Wachowski siblings pull back the curtain on the fantasy universe in which the film is set.

The new teaser establishes the back story to the film, in which we learn that a powerful alien dynasty controls Earth, and doesn’t take kindly to having its ownership challenged.

Because, as it turns out, Mila Kunis’ lowly toilet cleaner is actually Earth’s true heir, putting her on collision course with Eddie Redmayne’s alien overlord.

The new film certainly looks spectacular, with the Wachowskis pulling out all the stops to create what looks like their most arresting sci-fi landscape since The Matrix. And that film didn’t have Channing Tatum as a half-werewolf bounty hunter…

Co-starring Sean Bean, Douglas Booth, Tuppence Middleton and James D’Arcy, Jupiter Ascending will open in the UK on 6 February 2015.
