As well as the first Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer, Disney also revealed the teaser poster for Star Wars 8 at Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017. Unlike the usual Star Wars teaser posters, which tend to just be the movie's title in its iconic font on a black background, this one explodes with colour and resembles another past Star Wars poster. Recognise it? Check it out in full below.
I'm of course talking about one of the posters for A New Hope, which sees a young Luke Skywalker take a similar stance to Rey, lifting up a lightsaber into the air and watching a blast of light illuminate the sky.
Could the resemblance indicate that Rey is going through a similar journey to Luke in the first Star Wars movie? Perhaps. But that's not the only interesting thing about the poster. It also features the faces of (old) Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren, split by the beam coming from Rey's lightsaber. Perhaps they each represent the Light and the Dark side of the Force with Rey bring balance?
Oh, and that colour? Bathed in red with a blast of blue? Beautiful.
Keep an eye our Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017 hub page for more news from the event as it happens.
Directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Laura Dern, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, and Benicio del Toro, Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in cinemas on December 15, 2017.
