With 2D graphics and designs inspired by the original trilogy, Sonic Mania is by almost all accounts a game that spurns the series' contemporary trends. But you know what games of today have that most games of the '90s didn't? Collector's editions. And that's one modern sentiment that Sega is wholeheartedly embracing for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One-bound resurrection of Genesis style.
The Sonic Mania Collector's Edition is $70, and comes with a 12"-tall Classic Sonic statue featuring a SEGA Genesis Base that plays the iconic "SEGA" noise, a metallic card with a digital Sonic Mania download key, and a replica Genesis cartridge with a gold ring fastened to the front. It's all neatly packaged in a classy box with Genesis-style art emblazoned on the front.
You've got a good deal of time to decide, as Sonic Mania isn't scheduled to spindash into players' homes until spring 2017.
