The Conjuring unveils a teaser trailer: watch now

A teaser trailer for The Conjuring has been released, and in keeping with director James Wan’s previous films, there’s plenty to threaten the state of your underpants.

Appropriately for a teaser, the footage doesn’t give too much of the film’s plot away, but hints at the spookening that’ll set the film’s events in motion.

Lili Taylor heads up the ‘based on a true story’ tale, as a mother terrorised by something demonic in her New England farmhouse. As you can witness below in the teaser, there’s some distinctly sinister goings-on, erm, going on, as a friendly game of ‘hide and seek’ soon turns sour.

Check out the trailer below:

The Conjuring also stars Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as a paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (who in real life examined cases such as the Amityville Horror).

Some teaser poster art, and a bunch of film stills, have also found their way online, and you can check ‘em out below:

Directed by James Wan ( Saw , Insidious ), The Conjuring opens in the UK on 19 July 2013.
