Superbowl Spot Breakdown: Transformers 2

1. Carrier attack

Giant flaming projectiles smash into an aircraft carrier Could these be Decepticons arriving from space? US Navy asks Pearl Harbor director Bay just what he's got against the ships.

2. It's Sam

Shia LaBeouf's Sam Witwicky looks a little older but no less wide-eyed as Giant Robot Stuff happens in front of him.

3. Calling all armies

Josh Duhamel's Captain Lennox also does the stare as Robots Trash his forces. Come on Mike... make with the Giant Robots!

4. 'Bot Carnage

Ah, there we are. One of the Decepticons (possibly part of Devastator) battles the army. Guess who wins?

5. Ravage!

It's Ravage! And he looks nasty.

6. Scramble!

What we're guessing is the Decepticon Barricade leaps from a building and converts on the move to an Audi A9. Smooth.

7. Saaaaam!

The lovely Megan Fox screams helplessly as Sam is pinned by what looks like Starscream.

8. Optimus takes it on the chin

Optimus Prime gets roundly punched by one of the baddies.

9. Smashing!

What looks like one of the Constructicons smashes through a building as Optimus clings on. Well, that's Michael Bay for you. No real sense of the story, just spectacle. Works, though. Bay is apparently holding plenty back - look for a full trailer attached to Friday The 13th.
