After taking time out with the kids, Will Smith has packed 2006 with a back-to-back filming schedule but you know what they say about the best laid plans…
Smith was all set to shoot The Pursuit Of Happyness until Italian helmer Gabriele Muccino dropped out, delaying the project until 2007. The Men In Black star isn’t due on set for sci-fi actioner I am Legend until later this year - so to fill the void, Smith has put his thumbs up to Seven Pounds, a movie about a fella who inadvertently falls for a woman while he is trying to kill himself.
No word yet on whether this is a comedy (we would hope so) or on which actress will play opposite the Fresh Prince but the script comes from feature scribbling newbie Grant Nieporte, who has a couple of Sabrina The Teenage Witch episodes on his CV.
Smith is set to write the cheques for the flick along with his Overbrook Entertainment cohort James Lassiter.
