The new IMAX RoboCop poster has been revealed ahead of its release in February. The remake of the 1987 sci-fi classic will play in selected IMAX cinemas.
In 2028, the major corporation OmniCorp has designed the new face of law enforcement. They create RoboCop; a part man, part machine whose objective is to serve and protect the streets of Detroit.
OmniCorp design US military technology, but are prevented from using their drones in America. RoboCop is their latest method of selling their brand of brute force protection to the police forces of the USA – dreaming of a RoboCop in every major US city.
Alex Murphy is severely injured and OmniCorp take the opportunity to create their latest invention, which might be a morally dubious one...
Joel Kinnaman stars as Alex Murphy/RoboCop with an all-star cast behind him including Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton and Samuel L. Jackson.
While this new version of RoboCop has so far done a decent job of suggesting that it's more of a 'reimagining' than a carbon copy this IMAX poster definitely harks back to Paul Verhoeven's stylish original, and namechecks our hero's directives.
