Pro Evolution Soccer heads for Wii

Aug 22, 2007

We expected some surprises this week, but PES on Wii wasn't one of them. Nevertheless, it's true - Pro Evolution Soccer is headed for Wii in the first quarter of 2008. The game that keeps us occupied every lunchtime should need no introduction. PES is the finest simulation of football ever crafted and Nintendo owners should rejoice at the fact they're getting their own custom version of the game.

Details are thin on the ground at present, with only the promise of "full use of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers, offering total control over every aspect of the players and their movements both on and off the ball". Apparently, the control combination will allow you to send players running into space and distribute the ball with ease. Could we be using the pointer function of the Wii-mote to plotoff-the-ball runs on the fly?

Seeing as Q1 2008 isn't that far off, we do expect to see more of this title soon - maybe, possiblyeven before the week is out. Be certain we'll bring you screens and details as soon as we've got them.
