Prepare to re-enter the Labyrinth - a reboot is on the way

You're either going to love this news or hate it with a fiery passion: Columbia Tristar is developing a Labyrinth reboot. There. It's out in the open. Columbia TriStar has brokered a deal with The Jim Henson Co. to usher in a modern version of the 1986 original with Lisa Henson producing and Guardians Of The Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman penning the screenplay.

The first film starred Jennifer Connelly as a teen named Sarah, who winds up in a mystical labyrinth after proving herself to be a shoddy babysitter. Once inside she meets the alluring Goblin King, played by the late David Bowie, and sets out to retrieve the lost child she is responsible for. While making chums along the way, too.

It's not known at this point whether or not this new take on that Jim Henson movie will be a sequel or a remake. Either way it's bound to ruffle feathers. The glitzy original fared poorly at the box office upon release, but like all cult classics it went on to become a massive hit on home video. And finances don't mean a thing when you've got tunes like "Dance Magic" and flamboyant costumes.
