PlayStation celebrates 20 years since PS1 was released in Europe

Happy anniversary PlayStation! It might have felt like its gone on all year (it has) but Sony is celebrating 20 years to the day since the PS1 went on sale in Europe. While Sony got to eat the Crash cake above, we can mark the occasion by vying to win what must be one of the very last of the 20th anniversary consoles on the PlayStation Blog.

Alternatively you can do exactly what I'm doing right now and listen to the 20 years of PlayStation Spotify playlist. The Crash Bandicoot theme from The Marcus Hedges Trend Orchestra is sure to brighten your day somewhat.

Oh and remember when PlayStation was advertised like this?

If you want more PlayStation memories, the current issue of Official PlayStation Magazine is an homage to all things 20th anniversary shaped. You can download it here.
