New trailer for Thor: The Dark World reveals extra footage

Thor: The Dark World , the next significant step in Phase 2 of Marvel’s cinematic masterplan, is hitting cinemas soon, and an extended trailer has been released as a handy reminder.

There’s not a huge amount of new footage in there, but it does a decent job of reminding you that you should be very, very excited...

Once again, fan favourite Loki (Tom Hiddleston) plays a key role, introducing the trailer with a sneering voiceover. While plot specifics are still a little scarce, the power of the invading Dark Elves - led by Christopher Eccleston’s Malekith - is left in no doubt.

With Thor splitting his time between Earth and Asgard (while trying to patch things up with Jane Foster), the scope of this one looks huge.

Get watching the extended trailer now:

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins, Thor: The Dark World opens in the UK on 30 October 2013, before landing in the US on 8 November 2013.

The trailer also includes a nice reminder for Marvel TV project, Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. , which debuts in the US on 24 September 2013, before airing in the UK on 27 September 2013.
