The Dictator has released a new trailer online, in which Sacha Baron Cohen's General Aladeen is stripped of his beard and forced to live among ordinary, run of the mill Americans.
The new footage gives a much clearer impression of how the film's plot will play out, with John C Reilly's government agent neutralising the General by cutting off his beard, thus rendering him unrecognisable to the American public.
Adrift and alone in New York, Aladeen soon becomes pals with Anna Faris's store owner, and sets about adjusting to his new life.

This new turn of events is looking a lot more promising, with Aladeen's fish out of water antics providing the bulk of the gags. Subtle it ain't, but watching an obnoxious child get a boot up his backside will never not be funny.
The Dictator opens in the UK on 18 May 2012. Prepare to make room in your hearts for a new breed of tyrant.
