Universal has just unveiled a brand new trailer for The Fate of the Furious, and if you’re a fan of this franchise, I have great news: this is just as gloriously ridiculous as you’re hoping it’ll be.
Pack it up, movies of 2017: none of you can possibly top the moment when Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson alters the path of a live torpedo with one hand while hanging out of a moving car and sliding across the ice on his boots at top speed:
These movies have lost all sense of reality, and I absolutely love them for that. I was under the impression that following the jaw-dropping lunacy of Furious 7, this franchise was going to tone it down a little bit because honestly, how would they be able to do anything that tops a supercar crashing through a tower in Dubai? But from the looks of this trailer - which also includes Charlize Theron’s villain demonstrating a mastery of technology the likes of which we’ve never seen as she controls a swarm of hundreds of NYC cars at once - it looks like they’re keeping the pedal to the metal in this new entry… and that’s perfectly fine with me.

Directed by F. Gary Gray and starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Charlize Theron, Jason Statham, and many more, The Fate of the Furious races into theaters on April 24, 2017 in the US and April 14, 2017 in the UK.
