The Arthurian drama benefits from a strong night for the BBC
The overnight ratings for Merlin ’s “Lamia” were 5.65 million, up again from last’s week’s 5.4 million, and climbing back towards the series high of 5.9 million for “His Father’s Son”.
The BBC claimed the number one spot of the evening with Strictly Come Dancing (11.6 million), beating the increasingly stale-looking The X-Factor into second (10.4 million). Merlin was fourth because oddly people still like seeing z-list celebrities eat insects in I’m A Celebrity (7.96 million). But it remains an impressive performance for Merlin .
