This is by no means the best Switch 2 deal we've seen, but it's a lot better than what we've seen recently. It's a nice bonus saving on the latest model.

This is a decent cut off this Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle, which is probably the most sensible purchase for any Switch 2 player, since everyone needs a Mario Kart in their world.

This is a stunning and rare discount on a Nintendo Switch 2 game. It's a sprawling tactical RPG originally released for the Nintendo 3DS, but this Switch 2 version adds hi-def graphics, a reworked UI (the original relied heavily on the 3DS's dual-screen) and a bunch of other QOL improvements.

Amazon is currently offering the best price on this sprawling RPG, when you take free shipping into account. The big question is: is the Nintendo Switch 2 the only console you own? If you happen to have a decent PC or a PS5 at home, you're probably better off playing Cyberpunk on those; you'll get it much cheaper than this on those platforms too.

This year's biggest 3D platformer, and probably the best Switch 2 game so far, is available for a pre-Christmas bargain. It may not be the universal crowd pleaser that Mario Kart World is designed to be, but if you long for the halcyon days of 3D platformers, this is a gem.

Square Enix excels at remaking old 8-bit RPGs with modern audiences in mind, and Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake is probably the best example yet of how 1980s RPGs can stand the test of time. It's a gorgeous HD-2D gem for young and old alike, and this discount is pretty good considering how recently the game released.

If you didn't buy the Switch 2 bundle, you're going to need Mario Kart World whether you like it or not. It is basically law that everyone with a Nintendo console needs whichever Mario Kart game releases for that gen. Think you can get away with it? I dare you.

Two Mario games for AU$34? Is this a pricing error? No! It's a Ubisoft game. This bundles Ubi's two brilliant Mario + Rabbids tactics games into one package. Note that there's no cartridge here but instead a download code. Also, it's a Nintendo Switch game, but it's fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2.

Amazon has carved a welcome 19% off the RRP for this new Pokémon game. It's the first in the series to release natively for Nintendo Switch 2 (though it's coming to the older Switch too) so expect proceedings to be sharper and smoother than the famously ropey Scarlet & Violet. This one ditches turn-based combat for a live-action approach that's reminiscent of the Xenoblade Chronicles games.

While billed as a remaster, this reissue of a deep cut PS2 Atlus JRPG is actually more of a remake: its combat system has been entirely rehauled, all dialogue has been voiced, and pesky random encounters are gone. If you loved Shin Megami Tensei V, or the Persona games, this is well worth investigation.

This offer gets you a respected high-level headset which we praised for its good battery life, decent audience and comfort. In our 72/100 review we criticised its price and "unspectacular" mic, but perhaps those shortcomings are a little easier to bear with this whopping price cut.
LIVE: Latest Updates
Missed out on Black Friday? Fear not because Boxing Day sales are here and there are plenty of Switch discounts to be had. Sure, the consoles (bundles as well) aren't getting massive price drops, but the games sure are. There's quite a few to choose from to help you expand your library, so take a look above and get back to us regularly as we're hunting down the best Nintendo game deals we can find before the year runs out.
Old gems
For those enjoying a new Nintendo Switch 2 (or who are about to), keep in mind that the vast majority of OG Nintendo Switch games will work on it - and that applies to physical cartridges as well. It's tempting to keep an eye out for Switch 2 game bargains this Boxing Day, but remember there's eight years worth of original Switch games to choose from as well.
Here are some discounts I've spotted. All of these games come highly recommended by GamesRadar's reviews team.
- The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for AU$69.95 (usually AU$79.95)
- Luigi's Mansion 3 for AU$69 (usually AU$79.95)
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for AU$59 (usually AU$79.95)
- Mario Party Superstars for AU$64 (usually AU$79.95)
- Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee for AU$69 (usually AU$79.95)
- Super Mario Maker 2 for AU$69.95 (usually AU$79.95)
A decent, affordable controller
As far as gamepads go, the first-party Nintendo Switch 2 controller is both pretty good and pretty affordable at around AU$119 (that's what JB Hi-Fi is currently selling it for). But also: it's Christmas, so you're probably broke.
If that's you, there is a good alternative: the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C is a Bluetooth controller that'll work with both the Switch 2 and the original Switch. Better still, it has Hall Effect analog sticks, which is technology that makes them far less likely to drift compared to the regular Switch 2 Pro controller. It also has extra R4 / L4 bumper buttons (situated on the rear of the gamepad, where your index fingers usually rest).
While it's not currently on sale, Amazon is selling them for AU$49 a pop, which is considerably cheaper than buying the first-party option.
Mario Kart World? More like Mario Kart-not-as-good-as-Sonic Racing Crossworlds
Look, I'm really sorry about that headline. I'm no Sonic "fanboy" (I actually think the Sonic platformers are terrible) but I have an enduring love for the Sonic kart racers, and Sonic Racing Crossworlds is the best instalment yet.
In fact, I'm going to go out on a limb and say Sonic Racing Crossworlds is better than Mario Kart World, for several reasons: it doesn't have any of the open world padding. It's faster. It looks better. It has Ichiban from Like A Dragon in it. It's perfect for a summer holidays splitscreen fest.
Amazon is currently flogging it for AU$59 for Nintendo Switch 2, which is a big improvement on its AU$99.95 RRP. JB Hi-Fi is offering it for the same price, though you'll need to pay shipping.
Our racing expert Justin Towell gave Crossworlds four stars. "Sonic Racing CrossWorlds is a slick, ambitious racer with loads of tracks, primed and ready for future, licensed crossovers," he wrote. "At first too slow and then suddenly extremely fast, the racing lacks finesse, but it gets better as you play. A strong offering that's compulsively playable, but a bit grindy in single-player and not quite S-tier on the track."

Wondering what to do with your new Switch 2?
If you managed to cop a Nintendo Switch 2 for Christmas, you may be wondering what to do with it. Well: it's a gaming console! You game on it. But assuming you know at least that much, let's have a look at what your first port of call should be in terms of games.
I'm going to assume you got the Mario Kart World bundle, but if you didn't, sure, Mario Kart World is probably a safe bet for first Nintendo Switch 2 game. But it's not the highest recommendation: according to our list of the best Switch 2 games, it's Donkey Kong Bananza that you should get.
The RRP on Bananza is AU$109.95, but JB Hi-Fi has it for AU$89.
If you're averse to simian platforming, Hades 2 might be more your style. It's our third favourite Nintendo Switch 2 game, and if you want it physically you can get it for AU$64 at JB Hi-Fi. But wait! If you don't mind buying the digital version, that's going for AU$33.75 on the Nintendo eShop.
Check out the rest of our list of the best Nintendo Switch 2 games if you need some more inspiration.
Persona(l) fave
In my humble opinion, Persona 3 Reload is the best game on Nintendo Switch 2 at the moment. If you love sprawling JRPGs with tactical turn-based combat and plentiful dungeon crawling, it's basically essential. If you loved Metaphor ReFantazio or Persona 5, you already know you want this.
When it launched for Nintendo Switch 2 earlier this year, performance was woeful. People rightfully expected much more from a remake of a decades old game, especially one that doesn't apparently push the Switch 2 hardware even a fraction as hard as, say, Mario Kart World. But it recently received a patch rectifying all of those issues, meaning it can be recommended with no reservations at all.
Persona 3 Reload is kinda hard to come by online: Amazon is out of stock and JB Hi-Fi is selling it for a wince-inducing AU$109. In a rare example of EB Games being the best place to buy a game, that bricks 'n' mortar retailer is currently offering Persona 3 Reload for AU$88. It's worth every cent in my opinion.
Wheelie good
If you've just been gifted a new Nintendo Switch 2 with Mario Kart World bundled in, maybe you'll be interested in the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con 2 wheels? You basically plug your Joy-Con into one of these and you've magically got a steering wheel for all compatible games, which includes Mario Kart World and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, among others.
The Gamesmen is currently selling them for AU$24.95, down from AU$29.95. They've been as low as AU$14 on Amazon, but unfortunately they're out of stock.
Are they worth it? Well, only you can answer that: do you want to play Mario Kart with a floating steering wheel rather than just a commonplace controller? I don't - that sounds annoying. But maybe you do!

Happy Boxing Day (sales)!
I'll be around for the next few hours checking out the lay of the land as far as Switch 2 deals go. It doesn't look like consoles prices have dipped further beneath pre-Boxing Day discount prices (AU$644 for the standalone Switch 2, and AU$715 for the Mario Kart World bundle) but if the dial shifts I'll let you know.
As I predicted, Switch 2 Boxing Day sales are looking like a games-centric affair at this point.
Block the rest of the world out for less
I must draw attention to the Corsair HS35 v2 gaming headset, which is going for AU$25 on Amazon. If you got a Switch 2 yesterday and need some privacy (or if other members of your household are objecting to the noise) this is a quick 'n' easy solution. AU$25 for a gaming headset with a mic from a reputable brand is pretty great value.

This wired gaming headset is a budget affair from a reputable brand, and frankly, AU$25 is an absolute steal. It's compatible with all modern games consoles (and PC) and boasts an omni-directional mic, on-board mute and volume controls, and 50mm audio drivers for a powerful sound. Don't expect the world, but if you don't want to spend big bucks on a headset this is the very best option at present.
End of days for Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle
As Scott McCrae reported earlier this week, Nintendo is discontinuing the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle. In other words, soon you'll need to buy the console and the game individually.
Let's break that down: Mario Kart World is usually AU$99, and the standalone Switch 2 is AU$699.95. You're looking at nearly AU$800 if you want both.
What I'm trying to say is this: If you want a Nintendo Switch 2 and Mario Kart World, you had absolutely better jump on the bundle before it disappears. Amazon is selling it for AU$714 right now. Go, go, go!

Our fave Nintendo Switch 2 headset
Rosalie Newcombe compiled a list of the best Nintendo Switch 2 headsets earlier this year, and this Razer set topped the lot. JB Hi-Fi is currently flogging it for AU$149, down from its AU$230 RRP.
What's so good about it? In Rosalie's words: "The X Chroma was one of the first headsets I put through its paces since the Switch 2 dropped on June 5, and everything worked just as it should. Whether it was via Bluetooth, or using the compact 2.4GHz wireless dongle in the top USB-C port, I had zero compatibility issues with the handheld, which was a relief."
AU$149 is a good price for a 2.4GHz wireless headset with Bluetooth support. The later means you can use it with a bunch of other devices too, and since the mic is detachable there's nothing stopping you from using it as an office or commuting headset.

The Razer Barracuda X Chroma was a standout Nintendo Switch-compatible wireless headset that also works brilliantly with the Switch 2. It boasts both Bluetooth and 2.4Ghz wireless support, and its "Hyperclear" Cardioid mic means you'll be crystal clear in the chat.
Happy Boxing Day Boxing Day!
Notice how stupid the above sentence is? It's because a) I'm full of Christmas lunch leftovers and b) I spent yesterday looking for great Nintendo Switch 2 Boxing Day deals. I thought it would be over come December 27, but it's not.
Most deals from yesterday are still live, as you'll see in the guides above. I'll highlight some especially good grabs throughout the day here as well.
Two brilliant Mario tactics games for AU$34? It makes me Rabbid with joy
Two Mario games for less than AU$40? It seems impossible until you look closer and realise it's the Mario + Rabbids games, which are published by the more bargain-happy Ubisoft. Don't let that disappoint you though, because these are some mighty fine tactics games in the style of Xcom, albeit with the latter's grit replaced with almost suffocating whimsy.
JB Hi-Fi is selling this dual pack for AU$34, down from AU$49. That's a lot of game for not much, and I'd highly recommend snapping it up if you're interested in a unique take on the tactics RPG. Also, it has Rabbids. Rabbids are cool, right?
This is a Nintendo Switch game, but it'll work just fine on Nintendo Switch 2.

Two landmark RPG remakes in one
The first two Dragon Quest games were landmark RPGs but they may be hard on the eyes (and patience) of modern gamers. But with the recent release of Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, they're not only readily available on modern consoles, including the Nintendo Switch 2, but they're actually a whole lot more fun to play.
These remakes use Square Enix's brilliant 2D-3D hybrid graphics style, first popularised in Octopath Traveller. The result is truly beautiful, and while remakes can never (and should never) replace the original artefact, it's hard to deny that these games feel a lot better to play in this more modern reincarnation. Rollin Bishop agrees.
The good news is that JB Hi-Fi is offering the package for AU$79, down from AU$94. That's a generous discount on a game that only released less than two months ago.
