Here are the Switch launch games, but install sizes suggest you'll want a memory card day one

Nintendo Switch will have nine games when it comes out on March 3, and about 25 GB out of its 32 GB of internal storage free for downloading. From what we know of the file sizes for games, you're definitely going to need to buy a Nintendo Switch memory card if you plan on downloading more than a few of them - and you'll probably want one even if you prefer physical copies.

First up, here are the two Switch launch titles that we know the sizes for (these are for the Japanese versions, but they probably won't vary much worldwide).

  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - 13.4 GB
  • I Am Setsuna - 1.40 GB

Download those both and you've only got about 10 GB left of internal storage to play around with. We don't know the file sizes for these other seven games coming out on March 3 yet.

  • Just Dance 2017
  • Human Resource Machine
  • Little Inferno
  • Skylanders: Imaginators
  • Super Bomberman R
  • World of Goo

Those 25 GB will fill up fast once more big Switch games like Arms and Splatoon 2 come out. Fortunately, Switch uses standard MicroSD cards, meaning you can more than double your built-in storage for cheap.

Or if you don't mind spending more, you can easily increase your storage nearly ten-fold.
