Several Razer headsets have hit their lowest prices in Amazon's Black Friday deals
One of the most frequently-discounted gadgets in sales is often the humble headset. In Amazon's Black Friday week sales, one of our favorites has seen its price cut to a new low price, as well as several of its siblings.
We gave the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro four and a half stars in our review, and now it's down to $119.99 over at Amazon. We've seen deals on the headset before, but never one that removes $80 off the asking price of the device, making this one of the discounts to watch. Plus, it's on both color options of the headset, which is a surprisingly rare thing in Black Friday gaming headset deals.
Razer BlackShark V2 Pro | $119.99 $119.99 at Amazon
Save $80 - This is the lowest price we've seen for this product, as it's $10 lower than the Prime Day price which was, at the time, the cheapest it had gone. So if you don't need the V3 Pro, it's a great deal on a top-spec gaming headset.
You can read our Razer BlackShark V2 Pro review to learn more about the headset, but the overview is that it sounds great, with a fantastic microphone and lightweight design, and the battery life is solid too.
One 'con' we listed is that there's no Xbox compatibility in the base model, but the Black Friday deal extends to a version of the headset which does work on Xbox. So if you're a Microsoft gamer, you're in luck.
The V2 Pro is the most premium member of BlackShark's second-gen line-up, but if you're not on the market for an expensive option, there are two other headsets from the family you could look at:
Razer BlackShark V2 HyperSpeed | $129.99 $59.99 at Amazon
Save $70 - We've not seen Razer's mid-spec option go for such a low price before, with its previous low being $15 higher than this. It's a solid pick that misses some of the premium trappings of its Pro sibling, but at a much lower price.
We also awarded 4.5 stars to the headset in our Razer BlackShark V2 HyperSpeed review, as while it misses some of the perks of the Pro model, it also costs less and offers the same audio experience.
If you're on a budget, these two headsets have one sibling which we haven't reviewed, but comes in at a much lower price:
Razer BlackShark V2 X | $59.99 $32.99 at Amazon
Save $27 - We've never seen the V2 X hit a lower price than this before, tough it has seen this $27 discount several times in the past. There are a few configurations for color, connection and device, each ranging in discount, so make sure you've selected the right one.
As you can tell from the price, the Razer BlackShark V2 X is a much more budget offering compared to its siblings. But if you're on a tight budget or don't need the feature set of the Pro or HyperSpeed, it's an affordable alternative.
Should you buy the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro?
While this is a great deal, it's not on the latest model; we gave the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro a perfect 5-star review, however it costs $249.99 MSRP and isn't currently enjoying a Black Friday discount.
I'm always a fan of buying older-gen tech if it's cheaper, and given that it's $130 less than the V3 Pro, this V2 Pro deal seems like a bargain to me. It's even cheaper than the Razer BlackShark V3, which retails for $149.99, and to which we gave a 4.5-star review. All of the third-gen models came out earlier in the year, two years after the V2 versions.
If you already own a standard BlackShark V2, or similar model, perhaps the upgrade to a V3 will pay off. But if you're new to gaming headsets, or only own a budget one, this deal will help you embrace top-end features without being saddled with the high price.
