Halo who?

Unreal Tournament 3
Halo 3 brings a bit of its community's collective creativity into the mix with Forge, allowing players to edit spawn points, weapons, and objects in Halo 3's multiplayer maps. In the world of console shooters, the ability to customize levels is impressive.

But what you can do in Forge is child's play when compared to what the modding community will be doing once Unreal Tournament 3 ships. A quick look at what fans have done with UT 2004's editing tools is proof of the awesomeness that's sure to come. Yes, you can move boxes and crates around in Forge, but can you create yourkickass vehicle? Can you make your ownover head shooter?

Console shooters like Halo 3 still have a ways to go before they can match games like Unreal Tournament when it comes to giving their fans the tools they need to construct their own creations. Right now, Halo 3's Forge pales in comparison.

But aside from that, Unreal Tournament 3 may still kick Halo 3's ass in straight up free-for-all multiplayer mayhem. Just check out all the crazy vehicles you can pilot in our latesthands-on preview.

Do you hate the idea that Halo 3 might not be the best thing since sliced bread... or Halo 2? Are there any other first-person shooters you're more interested in than Halo 3? We want to hear your feedback, scream at us or agree with us in ourforums.
