GR+ Live: Meet the makers of Salt & Sanctuary for PS4

Long before people even used the phrase "indie game," Ska Studios was pumping out unusual, artful, deeply awesome independently developed games. While they gained their biggest following thanks to Xbox 360 games like The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai and Charlie Murder, they've been pumping out something new almost every year since 2001. Their latest is Salt & Sanctuary, a deletable cross between classic 2D games like Castlevania and Dark Souls newly released on PlayStation 4.

Ska Studios joined us for an extended conversation on the development of Salt & Sanctuary, switching from Xbox to PlayStation, and the complicated nature of communicating with your audience.

Anthony John Agnello
I've been playing games since I turned four in 1986, been writing about them since 1987, and writing about them professionally since 2008. My wife and I live in New York City. Chrono Trigger is my favorite game ever made, Hum's Downward is Heavenward is my favorite album, and I regularly find myself singing "You Won't See Me" by The Beatles in awkward situations.
