God of War II week, day 1: ancient history

You might have “beaten” God of War already, in which case the previous page's video of Ares taking a dive is old news to you. But you can't say you've really finished the game until you've ratcheted up the difficulty and smashed through to reveal the secret cinemas that lie in wait on the game's Treasures screen. But now you don't have to, because we've taken the liberty of spoiling those for you as well.

We'll start with Fate of the Titan. Cronos, the mammoth Titan who spends his days crawling around a vast desert with a gigantic temple on his back, was easily the most memorable part of the first God of War. But while he's literally the biggest character in the game, he's never really seen again once Kratos clambers up on top of him. His story doesn't end there, of course, and the following video reveals exactly what happened to the lumbering behemoth - as well as setting up a possible modern-day sequel.

After graduating from college in 2000 with a BA in journalism, I worked for five years as a copy editor, page designer and videogame-review columnist at a couple of mid-sized newspapers you've never heard of. My column eventually got me a freelancing gig with GMR magazine, which folded a few months later. I was hired on full-time by GamesRadar in late 2005, and have since been paid actual money to write silly articles about lovable blobs.
