"Nintendo is absolutely furious" about Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake leaks, former marketing lead assures, who says dealing with leakers will likely become a "major priority"

Nintendo's former senior PR manager Kit Ellis says Nintendo is likely furious over the massive batch of rumored game leaks that surfaced last week, which included a The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake.

Last week didn't have a Nintendo Direct, but it might as well have with all of the leaks that occurred for Switch 2. Not only did multiple game ratings boards leak titles like Capcom's Devil May Cry 5, Hell is Us, and Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival seemingly coming to Nintendo's system, but prominent Nintendo leaker Nate the Hate dropped some bombshells.

The leaker claimed that there is going to be a new Star Fox game released this summer alongside Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, Splatoon Raiders, and Rhythm Heaven Groove, and that Nintendo's big holiday 2026 title isn't going to be 3D Mario – which is set for 2027 – but will instead be a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Responding, Ellis has taken to Twitter, saying that "Nintendo has a huge problem with leaks they don't seem to be able to fix." Attached is a video where he goes over the leak, saying: "I can promise you that Nintendo is absolutely furious".

He explains that with Nate the Hate, "This isn't just somebody cryptically tweeting out a few things 24 hours before a Nintendo Direct. This is somebody who has laid out their entire lineup for the rest of this year and part of next years." He continues, saying: "For a company like Nintendo whose approach to marketing is propped up by the element of surprise, it's a big problem."

Ellis says that dealing with these leaks could likely become "a major priority" going forward, as he notes that leaks like this could impact the company's share prices if shareholders decide to act based on the information.

Of course, with a leak this massive, I always wonder if it's a case of a company releasing fake info to weed out leakers, which has been done in the past, so it's best not to get too excited in case this does turn out to be false. However, with Nate the Hate's track record, I'm personally inclined to believe.
