For four years, the developer known as Cakez toiled on a tower defense game called Tangy TD. He livestreamed his entire game dev journey, and after the game launched, clips of Cakez and his wife reacting to the title's success soon went viral. After a month, those successes have compounded into something astronomical – as shown by a delightful new clip where Cakez reveals to his partner that the game's made well over $600,000.
Cakez set up the moment for viewers in a recent stream, challenging his wife to guess how much money Tangy TD had earned in a month on Steam. As she offers guesses in German, Cakez translates that she "thinks $400k." A moment later, he adds with a laugh, "Do you hear this? 'More!' Guys, she is greedy."
The final figure? $788,449 in gross revenue, and $635,611 in net revenue. I'd try to describe the exclamations of joy that follow, but you should probably just watch the clip below for the full experience.

Cakez himself had already seen the numbers, so he was more interested in the player metrics – especially the median time played. "Damn, an hour and 15 minutes?" he muses as his wife continues to joyfully freak out in the background."She says that she's proud of me, and she didn't think it would be this much, and she wants all the money," he jokes.
"It's not about the money," Cakez notes sardonically. "It's about the journey." There's some truth there, but a four-year journey in game development is a lot easier to look back on fondly when there's a life-changing amount of cash waiting at the end of it all.
