New Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream update cures permanent Mii sadness, corrupted saves, and residents being so angry they'd fall out of love with their crushes
No more misnamed sugar gliders, either
Although Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream only officially dropped last month, Nintendo is working to iron out the cozy sim's bugs – and today's new update offers no exception.
In case you missed it, a new Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream update landed a few hours ago, and it's equally as hilarious as it is useful. As per the official announcement and patch details over on Nintendo's support website, version 1.0.2 targets everything from progression halts to, erm, sugar gliders.
The first noted change has to do with softlocking as players build their islands up, for instance – a situation I'm very glad I never found myself in.
Nintendo also remedies a progression issue with the Palette House, as changing your exterior could halt island advancement in some cases. The next change is even more serious: "Fixed an issue where, after a Mii character confesses successfully and the player tries to save, it is displayed that 'your save data is corrupted,' and the player is not able to save." I can't imagine going through the confession minigame, succeeding, and then losing all of my data, honestly.
There are a couple of other save data corruption-related tweaks, along with a more amusing note stating that developers have "fixed an issue where, after a Mii character failed to patch things up with another Mii character after fighting, its crush for a different Mii character would disappear." No more lonely Miis, y'all.
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream updated to version 1.0.2 (bug fixes) from r/NintendoSwitch
Another sillier one sees Miis no longer permanently upset, as some wouldn't feel better even after their sadness ran out.
My personal patch notes highlight has to do with the sugar glider pet you can win via the Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream minigames. "Since the game was incorrectly using the image of the southern flying squirrel for the image of the treasure 'sugar glider,' it was changed to the correct image," as Nintendo writes.
I'm not the only one who finds it funny, either. Over on Reddit, a fan jokes that their Mii will "find his pet evolved overnight." Just another day in the Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream community, eh? I love it here.
Between all of the mind-blowing Mii creations and the wild bug updates, there's no shortage of fun to be had with Nintendo's new sim – and I, for one, am so very here for it.
For anyone wondering how to update, simply navigate to your Switch home screen and select Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream without opening it. Then, press the + button or – button on your Joy-Con. The current version number will pop up, and you just need to select "Software Update" and "Over the Internet." Et voilà!
