Samson: A Tyndalston Story brings God of War heft to a GTA-style city in its new trailer
A new trailer for crime-filled brawler Samson: A Tyndalston story was just unveiled during the Future Games Show Spring Showcase Powered by HyperX, confirming the upcoming action game's release date.
The trailer sees the titular Samson taking the fight very close to his enemies. A desperate man working desperately to pay off his mounting debts - complete with a mountainous build and a shaggy mane in keeping with his biblical namesake - Samson is all about making the city of Tyndalston work for him. Unfortunately, much of the time that involves getting into brutal fist-fights where the odds are rarely in our anti-hero's favor.
While the close camera combat might be a little different to the GTA stylings that this kind of crime caper is used to, the good news is that there's a lot of Tyndalston to explore. Much of that seems to happen behind the wheel of some pretty gnarly muscle cars, with Samson telling us that four wheels can be just as effective as two fists if you're looking to dole out some punishment. Clearly, the subtle approach is not one that our hero will be taking particularly often, but if you want to remain a little further away from your foes, there's a Hitman-esque moment that involves a long-range takedown with a wrench, so your options are open.
Samson: A Tyndalston Story comes from new studio Liquid Swords, which boasts founding members of the Just Cause series among its ranks, so you know you're in for some explosive action. And you won't have long to wait - Samson is heading to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on April 8.
