Berserk B.I.T.S is an idle-RPG that's shaping up to be a major threat to my productivity, and there's a new Steam demo you can try now

If you're as easily distracted as I am, you may want to look away, as there's a new idle game on the horizon that'll bring plenty of chip-collecting RPG goodness to your desktop with little effort.

A new trailer shown at FGS Live From Los Angeles shows off the retro vibe, but the basic pitch is that Berserk B.I.T.S is an idle-RPG, auto-battler, and chip-collecting game all rolled into one that runs on your desktop alongside your other applications.

There's a campaign mode, side quests, and more. While your typical RPG has you work through all of that, though, Berserk B.I.T.S does all the busy work for you, so you can crack on with whatever you're doing and check in here and there to see how your character is getting on.

"Train and level up your B.I.T (Battle.Intelligent.Teammate). Team up with your digital buddy, collect battle chips, and take on the internet. Battle viruses, explore new biomes, progress through the story, and defeat powerful bosses! Become a Net Detective as you play your way through scenarios answering emails that lead you on missions," Berserk B.I.T.S's Steam page says.

While your pocket-sized pal does most of the graft, you'll be able to check in here and there to upgrade them and outfit them with new abilities that they've found or unlocked while you've been busy elsewhere. Set 'em up, and then let them get to work while you, uh, also work.

Berserk B.I.T.S isn't due to launch fully until later this year, but there's a new demo out now on Steam that you can try now. If you do decide to buy in, it might also be handy to know that developer BerserkBoy Games has long-term support plans, including New battle chips, game modes, B.I.Ts, and more.
