Bandai Namco has confirmed the new Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero DLC will be titled Super Limit-Breaking NEO, and it'll add over 30 characters and fix the biggest problem with the original roster in the process.
The main event of Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 was the confirmation that Dragon Ball Project Age 1000 will in-fact be Xenoverse 3, but for me, the best news was Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero having its expansion announced, after being teased earlier this year alongside Age 1000.
Bandai Namco confirms the Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC, which is set to include some wild omissions from the original stage roster like Kame House and Kami's Palace, and what looks like an RPG-lite mode where you level up your character through miscellaneous events. It doesn't look quite as interesting as Budokai 3's RPG-style story mode, but it evokes the same feeling.
Best of all, the expansion will see the game add 30 new characters to the roster, and we're finally getting original Dragon Ball characters like Mercenary Tao, Grandpa Gohan, Nam, and Demon King Piccolo, as well as some unexpected additions like Mighty Mask, Cheelai, and Jaco to round things out. Oh, and there's a lot of love shown to GT too, with Vegeta and Trunks getting their GT versions added to the game, for you sickos out there.
My biggest issues with the original game were the complete lack of Dragon Ball additions, and not enough absolute jobbers, so I'm very glad Bandai Namco heard me giving out about not being able to play as Android 8 this whole time.
Super Limit-Breaking NEO is set to launch this summer, alongside a free update with a new battle system, featuring gameplay changes which steer the fighting "toward fiercer, more intense battles."
