Prospera is a city-builder that goes back to the age of industrialization and lets you play in first-person
Coming to a Steam page or Epic Games Store near you
A new city-building game called Prospera has been announced at the Future Games Show at Gamescom, and it looks like what something like Anno might look like in first-person.
In the 30-second trailer, from a first-person perspective, we see two chaps working together to cut down a tree. After that, we hear the whistle of steam machinery as we move towards the rest of the gang, who are further treating our wood for something grander. As we end, we see a city over the hills, which might place us in the golden era of steam power and urbanization.
Prospera is a city-building experience that you can play in either first- or third-person. If you'd like to play something Anno from the eyes of a common worker, then here's your chance – if you'd rather not, though, then the choice is yours.
The goal is to build your city from the ground up as you walk through its myriad districts to see what needs expanding. You'll also construct factories, automate production, and more to ensure your cosy settlement grows into the thriving metropolis it was made to be. To ensure it prospers, if you will.
Prospera has only just been announced, so we'll have to wait for that release date, but we do know it's coming to Steam and the Epic Games Store.

I joined GamesRadar+ in May 2022 following stints at PCGamesN and PocketGamer.Biz, with some freelance for Kotaku UK, RockPaperShotgun, and VG24/7 thrown in for good measure. When I'm not running the news team on the games side, you'll find me putting News Editor duties to one side to play the hottest JRPG of 20 years ago or pillaging the depths of Final Fantasy 14 for a swanky new cloak – the more colourful, the better.
