Anno 117: Pax Romana demo confirmed, giving you an early slice of "the premier builder game of 2025"
Let's put that Roman building myth to the test shall we?
Ubisoft's upcoming city builder, Anno 117: Pax Romana, is getting a demo on September 2 so you'll be able to dive into Roman life for yourself ahead of launch.
Confirmed as part of the FGS Live from gamescom broadcast, Ubisoft has given us another look at what it's calling the "premium builder game of 2025".
"Anno 117: Pax Romana is delivering on the Roman fantasy in unseen scale and detail," explains Manuel Reinher, creative director on the game.
"Our game offers a unique set of features. We have city building, economic simulation, 4X elements, and we do all of this in an immersive world. And besides that, we are offering a new take on the iconic Roman setting."
You play as a Roman governor sent by the emperor to the provinces - aka Britain, or Albion at the time - to build something new. You'll make contact with the local Celts, and then decide whether you want to carry on what they've built, or tear it all down and replace it with something considerably more Roman.
If you want more details on exactly what sort of buildings to expect in Anno 117: Pax Romana, I'd recommend heading over to watch the new trailer that just dropped as part of the main Future Games Show at Gamescom too.
Anno 117: Pax Romana is launching November 13, 2025, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. You can wishlist it now on Steam, and don't forget that the demo is dropping September 2.
