I've picked out the top 7 Prime Day Board game deals using my decades of tabletop expertise
Some true must-haves are included in this year's sale
I've been completely caught off guard by this year's Prime Day board game deals. They're usually somewhere in the vicinity of "fine" and "good," but 2026's offering? It's downright great.
I've been rolling dice for longer than I can remember, and have picked up more than a few lifelong favorites in that time - the sort I think deserve a spot on every shelf. They're the kind of experience that sets up camp in your brain, keeping you coming back for more. And luckily, more than a few are on offer in this week's Prime Day board game deals. The best board games for a whole chunk less, with some at or near record low prices? Uh, yes please.
That's why I've used my decades of experience to pick out absolute must-have titles included in the sale, ranging from modern classics like Catan to award-winning newcomers such as Sky Team. If you buy anything in the 2026 Prime Day board game deals, I'd suggest it be these must-haves.
I'm pretty sure that Catan is one of the most influential (and essential) board games ever made. For starters, completely revolutionized the industry with top-tier mechanics that are still inspiring designers today. Plus, it still holds up; your aim is to settle an island and earn the most points through the biggest cities, longest roads, or the largest army, so there are numerous ways to win. As mentioned in our Catan review, it's a modern classic.

I only jumped on the hype train for this two-player game a couple of months ago, but now I wouldn't be without it. It tasks you to land a plane with your partner, but you need to be in sync for that to happen... and you can't speak. That means you've got to rely on intuition and must try to guess what the other player needs you to do based on the actions they've chosen, so it'll keep you on the edge of your seat. There's a good reason it got such a high score in our Sky Team review; I'd say it's one of the best 2-player board games around.

This is one of those games that I think deserves a spot in every collection. While it might not be as strategic as Catan, listed above, it's just as iconic thanks to laid-back tile-placement gameplay that can feel more like a puzzle than anything else. We gave it a glowing writeup in our Carcassonne review, and I genuinely think everyone should at least try it.

The latest addition to my collection is this utterly stupid, very fun party game. I love it already; it's lighthearted and easy-going, but you'll want to go again as soon as a match ends to try out some new approach. Although your aim is simple (fill up your bench with as many plastic pigeon tokens as possible), achieving that is so much harder than you'd think due to cunning cards that can completely change your fortunes if played at the right time. This one's never been cheaper, either.

If you want one of the best family board games around, look no further than Ticket to Ride. It strikes the perfect balance between accessibility and depth, in my opinion; it's easy to get into and play, but there are so many different paths you could take to victory. I mean that literally, by the way. As noted in my Ticket to Ride review, your aim is to build routes across North America... but others may be trying to go the same way, meaning you'll need to think ahead to secure those vital tracks before they're gone.

It's not a record low price, but honestly, I'll take that 30% discount on what is undoubtedly one of our favorite puzzle board games. Its simple but always-evolving gameplay (which has you creating beautiful mosaics for points) will keep you hooked, to the point that we gave it a full four-and-a-half stars in our We gave this one a positively glowing reception in our Azul review, so it's absolutely going on the list. Do you prefer more cerebral or puzzle-based games? It should really hit the spot. Thanks to straightforward but ever-evolving gameplay where you're making gorgeous mosaics for points, Azul is the kind of experience where you're always trying to work out a way to optimize your strategy.

This one has a reputation as one of the best ever team board games, and honestly? That reputation isn't overblown. Just like we say in our Spirit Island review, it's absolutely gripping with area-control strategy that has you trying to win back your land from invaders. It's one of the more complicated entries on this list, but if you're happy with something you can really sink your teeth into, you'll find one of the all-time greats.

Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more

I've been writing about games in one form or another since 2012, but these days you'll find me managing GamesRadar+'s tabletop gaming and toy coverage (I spend my time here handling everything from board game reviews to the latest Lego news). I've also been obsessed with Warhammer since the 1990s, and love nothing more than running tabletop RPGs like D&D as a Dungeon Master.
