It's not just Baldur's Gate 4 – Larian is "not involved in any" Baldur's Gate 3 projects now, but devs tease Divinity news is on the way
If Baldur's Gate 4 is happening, it's not coming from Larian
There's a new comic set in the world of Baldur's Gate 3 on the way. On the back of the publication being revealed, Larian Studios took the opportunity to remind people this is a licensed venture, and the studio isn't secretly chipping away on anything based on the Forgotten Worlds.
After Dark Horse Comics revealed the upcoming Baldur's Gate 3 book, there was some excitement at Larian's potential involvement, prompting a response quelling any rumors.
"Maximum hijinks are happening right now, but we're not involved in any BG3 related projects," says a post from Larian on Twitter, with an image of founder Swen Vincke getting fitted in armor.
It's not specified why, exactly, he's got a medieval costume on, but it also looks like he's been given some lines to memorise. Perhaps something to do with Divinity? Unlikely, given the wording of the next part – my guess is it's an endorsement of some kind for the comic.

"As soon as we bust outta here, we'll share more about Divinity," the tweet finishes. Larian's been adamant for a while now that it's done working on anything to do with Baldur's Gate in a substantial way.
After the whirlwind of the third, with it being a best-seller and an awards darling, the team has decided to use the boost in recognition and resources to resurrect the Divinity series. The last installment, Divinity Original Sin 2, will be ten years old next year, making it a good time for a fresh entry.
Whether or not we get Baldur's Gate 4 is really a question for Hasbro, who owns the Dungeons and Dragons IP, and it doesn't seem to be a priority for the time-being, although Wizards of the Coast president John Hight previously said "of course" it'll happen eventually. Whenever it does, though, it'll be from a studio other than Larian, even if you see Vincke in a shiny chestplate.
