A picture of Hideo Kojima with Xbox CEO Asha Sharma and CCO Matt Booty has prompted speculation the developer might have his hands on Project Helix.
Over on Twitter, Kojima posts a photo of the trio after a visit to the Xbox offices, with him and Booty donning Kojima Productions x Xbox Game Studios jackets (presumably produced for OD). However, the interesting part of the photo is the case Kojima is holding, which has a label saying "Xbox for Kojima." Xbox has already confirmed it's working on its next console, Project Helix, so naturally some fans in the responses are assuming it's perhaps a dev kit for the upcoming console.

However, the box itself looks a bit too small to be a dev kit, as in most cases the dev kits for consoles are usually far bigger than the actual console turns out to be (unless Project Helix is really, really small). Not only that, but Xbox itself confirmed at GDC 2026 that dev kits for the upcoming console are being shipped out to developers in 2027, which we're still a little bit out from.
Kojima also met with other notable Xbox names like former CEO Phil Spencer and Master Chief during his visit to Microsoft, however, neither post gives any indication as to what he was doing there. Sharma also quotes the post, saying the meeting was a "wonderful way to close my first 60 days."
The Xbox-partnered horror game OD is next on the list of upcoming Hideo Kojima games, so hopefully this meeting is a good omen that we'll see more from the game in the near future.
