The FIFA 23 Shapeshifters promo is in the books, after three weeks' worth of funky new cards. This FIFA 23 campaign saw names such as Virgil van Dijk and Riyad Mahrez shifted to fresh roles, while famous keepers like Pepe Reina and Petr Cech were given outfield positions. Below we explain how it all worked, before steering you through the complete FIFA 23 Shapeshifters cards list.
What are FIFA 23 Shapeshifters?
This returning promo sees some of the game’s best players moved to different positions, and given significantly rejigged stats. Take Virgil van Dijk as an example. He’s already close to the top of the FIFA 23 ratings chart, at CB. His new card moves him to CDM, with 92 Pace, 91 Dribbling and 90 Passing. Pele, meanwhile, gets switched to LW, with outrageous numbers such as 99 Dribbling and 97 Shooting.
Who is in FIFA 23 Shapeshifters Team 1?
Pele (Brazil, LW, 99) was the highest-rated player to emerge from Shapeshifters Team 1, which landed on Saturday, June 17 to herald an end for FIFA 23 TOTS.
Alongside the brilliant Brazilian, additional Icons include two different versions of Robin van Persie. Both are 96 rated, but his CAM card offers 98 Passing and 96 Shooting, while his RW items grants you 98 Pace and 98 Dribbling.
As mentioned above, Liverpool talisman Virgil van Dijk (CDM, 98) was among the outstanding new contemporary players. Former Chelsea man Antonio Rudiger switched to an ST role with a 96 rating thrown into the bargain. Other temptations include Bruno Fernandes (LW, Manchester United, 97) and Riyad Mahrez (ST, Manchester City, 95).

Is there a FIFA 23 Shapeshifters Team 2 leak?
There wasn't, but FIFA 23 Shapeshifters Team 2 is now live for everyone to enjoy, or squabble over. Top picks include Brazil legend Garrincha being moved to an ST role and awarded a new 98 overall rating, and a fresh CAM slot for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele. His Shapeshifters item scores a 97 OVR.
The fun didn't stop there, either. We also got a FIFA 23 Shapeshifters Team 3, on Friday, June 30. This time out the highest rated card was Thierry Henry, with the Arsenal and France all-time-great moved to RW with a new OVR of 98. Harry Maguire (Manchester United) shifted to a ST role and earned an upgrade to 95, while Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris gained an outfield switch – his CM card is rated 96.
