After weeks of waiting (and putting literal curses out into the world), JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fans can rejoice: Netflix has confirmed the release plans for Steel Ball Run episode 2 and beyond.
As announced on Netflix Anime's Twitter account, the streamer is "planning a split‑cour release across the entire run of episodes."
What does that mean for those who want to get back in the saddle for the next leg of Steel Ball Run's cross-country race? According to Netflix, the next cour (titled '2nd Stage') will begin in the fall with "one new episode released every week."
Article continues below"This release schedule is part of our original plan and reflects the wishes of the production committee," the statement continued. "Your passion and enthusiasm mean a great deal to everyone involved in the preparation. We appreciate your patience and continued support as we work to bring you the 2nd Stage."
It's been a long road to get here, however. The bumper-length '1st Stage' of JoJo's newest season premiered on March 19, yet the anime skipped the next week, which led to a sustained campaign by viewers to 'curse' Netflix in replies on social media.
That, when coupled with the series' own director not being able to confirm a release date for new episodes and Netflix initially only confirming one more episode in 2026, led to one of the more (fittingly) bizarre sagas in the past few months.
Now, though, the end is in sight – and fans can look forward to Steel Ball Run returning this fall.
