The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim DLC coming first to Xbox 360

Bethesda will be giving Xbox 360 owners a sizeable jump on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim DLC when it begins arriving after the game's launch this November. Today, the studio confirmed it has partnered with Microsoft for a timed exclusive DLC deal that will see Xbox 360 RPG'ers enjoying Skyrim's add-ons 30 days before anyone else.

“Xbox LIVE will be the first to bring players the experience of Skyrim’s add-on content in this revolutionized open-world fantasy epic where players can explore any way they choose,” reads today's announcement, repeating, “If you’d like to be the first to break new ground in Skyrim, Xbox LIVE is the only destination that won’t keep you waiting.”

The release makes reference to “the first two add-on content drops” arriving first on Xbox 360, but offers no details on what they might be. In hisrecent interview with AUS Gamers, director Todd Howard did say the DLC will allow players to continue exploring Skyrim after completing the main mission. He also said while the team is still working on the expansions' specifics, they intend to make the add-ons a step above standard DLC, noting, “We’d like to do less DLC but bigger ones -- you know, more substantial. The Fallout 3 pace that we did was very chaotic. We did a lot of them -- we had two overlapping groups -- and we don’t know what we’re going to make yet, but we’d like them to be closer to an expansion pack feel.”

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - in all its pure, un-expanded form - arrives November 11 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
