E3 07: Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon

Once you come to the end of each path - by completing missions and tasks - Crypto unlocks a new power to use against his enemies. Example? Well, if he learns all the key skills down the Path of Time, then he can freeze time with the Temporal Fist skill and manipulate his foes. This means that, by using psychokinesis, Crypto can stack up prone people like skittles then roll a huge stone statue through them like a bowling ball. Nice. This is just one of the many fun uses of physics that DAH is packed with, and as Crypto unlocks new powers you’ll be messing about with even more.

While brutalizing thousands of humans, you’re going to need the correct tools, right? Of course you are, and the developers have taken the genius weapons of the previous games up a couple of notches. The disintegrator ray has been tweaked to the point where it’ll leave its target in a pile of crumbling ash in an instant. And the discerning alien’s weapon of choice, the anal probe, now has homing capabilities - which means you can fire several shots at once and they’ll find their brown bull’s-eye automatically. Ouch.

The jetpack is now put to better use too, allowing Crypto to get around more freely and stalk his prey like a laser-wielding eagle. The most impressive upgrade in the small grey one’s arsenal, though, has to be his new saucer. As mentioned, the old ship was totaled by an inebriated Crypto - but Pox has built him a new one, which becomes more animated and slick this time around. Guns and bombs flip out from the ship’s body with the authoritative vim and smooth transition of a Transformer. And it’s also got the bite to back up its bark. Try the brand new Plasma Cannon - it can really cut a swathe through enemy choppers or buildings. And there are some neat new weapons called Seeker Drones which, when fired, will home in on targets relentlessly - even if it means punching through a skyscraper to get at them.
