In an official confirmation that will surprise no-one, Team Ninja head Tomonobu Itagaki has stated in the latest issue ofJapanese Famitsu 360 magazine that his next 360 title will be another Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball game.
In previous interviews, Itagaki has discussed his plans for DOAX2, letting slip that there will be at least one new game mode alongside the volleyball, and several new minigames in the style of the first title's pool-hopping.
Where the first DOAX had Xbox all to itself, though, Konami's upcoming 360 Rumble Roses XX has raised the bar - and maybe lowered the tone - on both visuals and perv factor. Not the kind of man to take competition lightly (having famously dissed both Tekken and Sony in the past), expect Itagaki and company to create a tropical holiday package that looks better than the real thing.
No mention has been made of when we can expect DOAX2, but we're betting Microsoft will find space among the armour-clad super-soldiers in its E3 presentation to show off a little fun in the sun.
Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball 2 will be released for Xbox 360, with thedate to be announced.
