Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano will lead the Star Wars invasion of Disney Infinity 3.0. Figures of the Jedi duo will come bundled with the Disney Infinity 3.0 Starter Set, Disney Interactive announced today, along with the Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic Play Set, a new Base, and a code for extra stuff on PC and mobile.
Twilight of the Republic will allow players to traverse Tatooine, Coruscant, Geonosis, and Naboo as they master Disney Infinity 3.0's new and improved combat system, developed in partnership with DmC: Devil May Cry studio Ninja Theory. Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and Darth Maul will also be playable, and each Jedi/Sith has special Force abilities and finishing moves to try out in combat.
The two other planned Disney Infinity Star Wars play sets are "Rise Against the Empire" and "The Force Awakens." Disney hasn't said much about them yet, but you can probably guess which eras of the Star Wars saga they'll highlight. And you'll even be able to unlock the ability to play with all the Star Wars figures across all the play sets.
Disney Infinity's Toy Box mode is always open for mixing and matching, but Play Sets are usually a bit more strict about characters. So you won't be able to turn the tide in the battle of Geonosis as Iron Man, but at least you can probably go pod racing as Chewbacca.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and was formerly a staff writer at GamesRadar.
