Bethesda has uploaded the latest images and artwork from Arkane Studio's upcoming assassin game, Dishonored, showcasing the game's “retro-futuristic” visuals and its developer's preference for rendering women in various states of undress. Not that we're complaining, mind you, just that we're worried about them catching a cold.

These newest screenshots unravel a bit more about Bethesda supernatural action game, which looks to mix BioShock's style with Deus Ex's mechanics and add a dash of Hitman and Ninja Gaiden for good measure.

“Dishonored casts you as a supernatural assassin driven by revenge,” reads Bethesda's own description, explaining, “Creatively eliminate your targets with the flexible combat system as you combine the numerous supernatural abilities, weapons and unusual gadgets at your disposal. Pursue your enemies under the cover of darkness or ruthlessly attack them head on with weapons drawn. The outcome of each mission plays out based on the choices you make.”

Aesthetically, Arkane insists it is not going for a steampunk vibe, but instead creating a “retro-futuristic” world that will differ from earth in its physics, history, and civilization. From what we gathered in last year's preview, Dishonored is indeed less about fancy gears and shiny tech, and more about dingy alleys, diseased rats, and well-dressed targets.

Dishonored is being developed for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC for a release later this year.
