Update: DC has informed retailers that Amethyst #6 (of 6) has been pushed back again, now expecting it to go on sale on December 15. This is the fourth time the finale has been rescheduled since it was originally solicited in June.

The publisher's planned collection of this six-issue series, as a result, has also been pushed back - going from February 16 to March 2.

Original story follows...

The finale of DC's current Amethyst series has been postponed, with the sixth issue now scheduled for release November 24.

When delays of the final issue were brought up on Twitter by a fan, writer/artist Amy Reeder apologized and said she was "hard at work to make it killer!"

Launched back in February as part of the young-reader-centric Wonder Comics line, Amethyst follows a teenage Earth girl named Amy who has discovered the orphaned princess of a magical dimension called Gemworld. In this new series, Amy returns after several years away to find her realm has fallen into disarray and she begins a quest to find out what happened, who caused it, and how to fix it.

Following a comics-wide hiatus in comics shipping in the early summer due to COVID-19, Amethyst resumed August 25 with its fifth issue. Amethyst #6 - the finale was solicited for a September 22 release but was later pushed back to October 20, and now November 24.

"With all her family's secrets and misdeeds laid bare, Princess Amethyst wrestles not only with the dark legacy she's inherited but with the combined forces of Lord Opal and the Diamond Court, who seek to destroy young Amy for the crimes of her house," reads DC's synopsis of Amethyst #6. "In the end, Amethyst must make a choice that could cost her everything - including her powers. The spectacular adventure concludes in this breathtaking finale!"

Amethyst #6 (of 6) goes on sale on November 24. A collection of all six issues is scheduled for February 16, 2021.
