The Usual Suspects/Valkyrie scribe Chris McQuarrie has signed up to write the sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
We'd get more excited by the news, but then the first film had an original screenplay by David Benioff (re-writing by Skip Woods and others) that ended up to be more than a little lacklustre.
So we're going to wait and see on this one. Still, it'll feature solid base material in the Chris Claremont/Frank Miller miniseries which saw Logan head to Japan, battle ninjas and try to make peace with his animal side.
And it's not like McQuarrie hasn't written for Wolvie before - he contributed to writing Bryan Singer's first X-film, though removed his name when the finished film drew more from David Hayter's drafts.
Hopefully this time McQuarrie might A) get to see his vision hit the screen and B) make us actually care about Logan's story again.
