For some people, appearing in one blockbuster genre franchise entry is enough. But it looks like the latest Terminator offering (Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins) is quickly becoming a home for those who don’t want to limit themselves to one huge movie per career.
Joining Christian Bale (doing double duty between this and Batman, of course) is Sam Worthington, who for the past few months has been hard at work on James Cameron’s much-anticipated sci-fi epic Avatar.
As Variety explains, it’s not a coincidence that he’s segueing from Cameron’s latest endeavour to something spawned from his past - his casting is partly the result of a phone call between Cameron and T4 director McG.
Worthington’s character will play a pivotal role in the planned three-film arc, which sees humanity rising from the ashes of Skynet’s nuclear assault to battle the machine menace.
