UPDATE
The Street Fighter 5 beta was meant to be back up and running at 11am this morning but it's clearly taking a little longer to get it back on its feet. Capcom has released a statement addressing the problems. "We apologise for the ongoing issues that users have been experiencing with the SFV beta test. In order to allow us to fix the issues as quickly as possible, we are going to initiate a period of extended maintenance, during which time the beta will be unavailable to all users. We will let you know the date on which the closed beta test will re-open once all problems have been fixed. We sincerely apologise for having to bring this unfortunate news to you. Thank you for your patience."
Producer Yoshinori Ono has once again apologised for the problems and just sounds like he needs a hug. Keep an eye on Capcom's Twitterfor updated information on when the beta will reopen.
I'm very apologetic towards players.I'm sorry that I don't have enough ability about SFV beta.Plz give me chance for re-scheduling SFV beta.July 24, 2015
Original story
The Street Fighter 5 beta launched this morning but has already unfortunately suffered from some technical difficulties. Users were reporting problems logging on and there were matchmaking issues across the board. It is now currently offline for everyone until 11am BST while it undergoes maintenance. Capcom has been updating players on Twitter and SF producer Yoshinori Ono has been personally apologising for the delay.
We're going to perform maintenance on 11pm(PST)/3pm(JT) to 1am(PST)/5pm(JT) for SFV. I sincerely apologize for inconvenience I have caused.July 24, 2015
So this might be the politest Beta hiccup of all time as it's also already been confirmed that the trial will be extended to make up for lost time. Aww, you guys. Hopefully things run a bit smoother come 11am.
We will be extending the beta to make up for lost time.July 24, 2015
