Peter Molyneux says Wii U is 'good, but it's not great'

Peter Molyneux is a fan of fresh thinking. His game ideas may not always pan out, he can't be faulted for lack of creativity. With that creative focus in mind, the Wii U may seem right up his alley.Molyneux told GamesIndustry International he does enjoy the system, but it has to be better to compete with all the other new ways people can play.

Molyneux said he tried and enjoyed Nintendo Land and ZombiU, but he found going back and forth from the GamePad's screen to the television slightly confusing. He still has "unbelievable respect for Nintendo," he said, and remembered how the Wii was widely ridiculed before bringing in millions of people from outside gaming's established market.

Meanwhile, his studio 22Cans continues its Kickstarter campaign for Populous successor Godus, which stands at £175,970 pledged out of its £450,000 goal and 21 days to go as of this writing.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and was formerly a staff writer at GamesRadar.
