Penny Dreadful renewed for third season

Fans of the occult give praise to Diablo, as Showtime has officially announced there will be a third season of gothic horror drama Penny Dreadful. With the show currently mid-way through its second series, the third season will arrive in summer 2016.

Production on the new series will begin in Dublin in the fall, with Showtime confirming nine new episodes are on the way. Cast details have yet to be confirmed, but barring any untimely exits this season, we’d expect to see all the key players back in action next year.

The second series of the show has proved a critical success, with the chemistry between the core cast developing nicely, and a raft of high quality guest stars such as Helen McRory and Simon Russell Beale adding a touch of class to proceedings. Roll on season three!
