Blizzard's Overwatch comes to Xbox One and PS4 in spring 2016

It might not be much of a surprise thanks to source code that hinted at a console debut, but Blizzard has officially confirmed that Overwatch will come to Xbox One and PS4. A $60 "Origins Edition" will grant its buyers access to five bonus skins, in-game items for Diablo 3, StarCraft 2, World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and Heroes of the Storm. A base edition of just the game will also be available for $40. Both the base and Origins versions will have access to all 21 heroes (and villains).

A stylized team-based shooter with a Pixar-like sense of animation, Overwatch takes place in a universe where superheroes and supervillains (many of whom are enhanced by technologically-advanced exoskeletons) duke it out for supremacy. Currently there are two modes for the game, both of which are 6v6 and objective-based. Payload challenges one team to move a bomb to a designated point while the other defends, while Point Control has players fight over several zones, similar to king of the hill.

Overwatch will launch on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in spring of 2016.
