No Man's Sky has gone gold and Hello Games is well chuffed about it

Development on No Man's Sky is finally done, as shared on Twitter by Hello Games founder Sean Murray. The PS4 and PC game, which was first teased to the public at Spike TV's Video Game Awards show in December 2013 and was at the center of a secret legal battle with UK broadcaster Sky, is finally ready to blast off into the Sony Certification System.

That's Murray holding a disc with an entire universe on it and wearing an "I haven't left the studio in two months" beard. Hopefully this happy news will make all the folks who sent death threats about the two-month delay feel very bad about themselves and Murray can finally go home to get some damn sleep. At least until the game comes out on August 9 in the US and August 10 in the UK, anyway.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
