A few months ago, THQ announced they’d partnered with World Event Productions to create games based on the classic 80s cartoon Voltron: Defender of the Universe. Since February both sides have been pretty silent, but in three weeks the game will finally debut in what seems like the perfect setting: the San Diego Comic-Con.

The game will be just one part of a Thrusday panel showcasing all things Voltron, as there'll also be new info on toys, comic books, and other collectibles. Known to children of the 80s that loved badly-dubbed anime/thinly-veiled toy commercials, the beloved Voltron brand is on the road to resurgence, thanks to a new cartoon (which crusty fanboys hate) and a planned live-action film. This game is just another piece of the puzzle, and we hope that THQ treats it with the same reverence as Spongebob Squarepants. For the sake of our aging sensibilities, we personally hope the game is exactly like our memories, except better. That sounds fair.
