New Gears of War 3 Easter egg discovered 5 years later

What better way to celebrate the upcoming fifth anniversary of Gears of War 3 than by finding one of its undiscovered Easter eggs? Despite hitting Xbox 360 back on September 20, 2011, the shooter still has new secrets to yield, as demonstrated in this video by the Gears of War TacCom community.

The Easter egg is triggered by shooting three coins hidden on trees across House of Sand, the second chapter of Gears of War 3's second act. Pop them all in the correct order and you should drop into a new area once you pass the ammo depot: a cozy little Locust skeet shooting range nestled in a monster's ribcage. It's a pretty intricate secret; you even get better rewards depending on how many of the clay pigeons, er, Locust you manage to blast.

Hopefully Gears of War 4 will keep players discovering new secrets for another five years once it arrives on Xbox One on October 11.
